Chauvin rejected help from paramedics and continued to kneel on Floyd for 2-3 more minutes after Floyd stopped breathing. That alone cost Chauvin the trial. Had he not done that (or even had better training to see that Floyd was clearly high out of his mind and needed medical attention before being taken into custody - you don't want a person dying in your jail cell because then that's another death on your hands), he would have been acquitted.
