A lot of Catholics decide to become Nuns or Priests so that they won't have to try to explain to everyone why they never marry. It isn't hard to figure out why would never marry in the first place.

Brother, every year there seems to be some investigation into child abuse within the Roman Catholic Church. I went through my mom's stuff after she passed and found a thick file on all the newspapers clippings of child abuse in the Catholic Church dating back to the early 70's. This was a devout Roman Catholic! She knew something is wrong in the church but couldn't bring herself to leave.
