Do they not fear living in fear? I drive by a high-school everyday and can't believe the kids wearing masks while walking home. What's the chance to catch COVID while walking home, 0%.

That is a big part of it. But many are just stupid.

The IQ of Americans has fallen drastically since George Washington's time.

The early settlers were some of the smartest people on earth. They had to be to survive and to want to leave Europe.

If you ever read the old high school tests etc from the 1700's you realize they were smarter than all of us.
