Was thinking something similar, but there are significant factors that make a difference to the outcome.
First is demographic population distribution. The places where we grow food are pretty sparsely populated overall and tend to be red, or purple at worst. The blue areas that will starve without intervention are the densely populated, blue urban centers.
Next is actual access and ability to put food on the table, regardless of supply chain. Those red states have the livestock, guns and hunters. Even though conservatives tend to be law abiding, game laws are the first to be ignored.
The reservation system was based on complete isolation and forced dependence over an indefinite period of time. This is a minority trying to isolate a majority, and cutting their own throats in the process. There are so many problems with their plan.
