It's a few cherry picked positive circumstances amidst a see of negative circumstances. Many of them are only nominally positive or actually hugely negative. Rigged elections for all to see? That's not a good thing if they got away with it!
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself how you would go about convincing people who won't listen to reason that things are wrong, who you know need to see things from your perspective? Do you seriously think we would've been able to get through to all of the slumbering masses without inconveniencing them? These things are happening for good reason. You're just demoralized, as evidenced by your outlook being consumed by negative news alone.
