Its curious that they have to disguise these 5G antenna masts in the first place. Cell towers and other types of antennae are not hidden or disguised here in the midwest, its an extra and unecessary cost. So the common sense question is why do they have to hide only 5G antennae why not other types? Why spend the extra MONEY to deceive people about these 5G antennae unless there is more to the story? More unanswered questions.
Well, they are actually disguising all of them (2 through 5G) - along with the photo radar, and entry/exit cameras. All of this is wrapped in the push to "beautify" the town. It takes an entire year minimum to get house plans approved down at the building permit department (you need plans for your mailbox - don't forget that little detail).
Verizon and the other major carriers have gone to microcells, i.e., more towers with smaller cell areas for what they call better coverage. This hasn't worked out very well, as the coverage has actually become worse over time - considering the terrain of the town (there are two large mountains in the center of town - which would be great to put towers on (even the smaller microcells) and you would never see them (especially in their cactus disguises), however, the town's beautify folks want absolutely nothing on the mountain (other than their multi-million estates, with multi-million dollar views).
Also, this little town is the national leader in photo radar. This is the last place that you want to go speeding through in your Turbo Porsche as they will nail you to the wall with tickets. Then a couple of years ago, the entry/exit cameras were installed. These record the license plates of folks entering and exiting town, which promptly spun a new cottage industry with the local lawyers for their divorce cases. Just who is dropping by whose houses for a quicky during the day.
Thanks for that info. In the midwest we don't have that problem as per beautification issues. They just put those 5G masts on buildings or anything that they can attach them to except trees of course LOL. You can see water towers bristling with all kinds of antennae and dish types of varying sizes, nothing is hidden here. In the more suburban rural areas they attach them to existing cell towers.
