It was hung out there as bait and meant to provide the FBI with the pretext they needed to get search warrants and conduct searches on all the PV offices and homes. It was dangled out there under JO'K's nose, and he smelled a rat. He was supposed to bite down hard on it and run with the story. But, he didn't. He reported it to the authorities and cooperated with them fully instead. Well, fuck. What's a dedicated feeb to do? Simple. Just run with the original plan. Get the warrants and do the searches anyway. So they did. Why not, it's always worked before, right?
