Another driving theme in Dune is the outcome of deifying our leaders. It was aimed at JFK when it was written, but became relevant again during the reign of Obummer. I saw murals covering entire buildings, and teachers telling their students that it was racist, immoral, and illegal to criticize their messianic ruler. Amazing how all that philosophy changed after Trump got elected.
