There's a sci-fi short story that centers around people that are born and raised in a closed-off society, basically like human cattle. When a wealthy person needs an organ they are matched to one of these "farmed" humans who in turn is slaughtered for their organs. Very dark but not all that unreal since china basically does that with prisoners and whomever else them deem unfit for existence...
