California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) spoke about the weight of the looming September 14 recall election in an interview published last Friday by The Atlantic.

Newsom’s comments: “I’m now feeling the weight of this decision, and a weight of responsibility to defeat this, and also the responsibility that if we fall short, I’m going to own that,” said Newsom.

After referencing a few of his recent initiatives, including the infusion of federal money into the state budget and a bill to open up health care to undocumented workers, Newsom went on, “If I do fall short, I’ll regret every damn one of those decisions. And I don’t want to have any regrets for putting everything out there and doing … what I think is right and what I think is in the best interest of California.”

When asked later in the interview if he thought the backlash against him was personal, Newsom responded, “How can you not? How do you walk the streets? Walk in front of my house, there’s protests 24/7, recall signs, your picture as Hitler.”

The big picture: According to FiveThirtyEight, the average recall election polls show that Newsom currently holds a small lead in the recall vote, with 51% of respondents saying they would reject the recall and keep Newsom in office.

Challenger Larry Elder leads the pack of 45 nominees vying to replace Newsom if he is recalled.

Appearing on Fox News’ The Next Revolution, Elder detailed that his policy plans include repealing vaccine and mask mandates for state workers, and declaring statewide emergencies on water and homelessness.

Elder quipped that he would repeal the vaccine and mask mandates for state workers “by the time he has his first cup of tea” in office.

We all know that the only thing that can save Newsom is another rigged election. The polls that show him ahead mean nothing -- the liberal cunts who run the polls always slant them to favor liberals. Elder is probably well ahead of Newsom, and Newsom knows it.

Agreed, if Newsom was anywhere close in the polls they wouldn't be talking about the elecion.

He will win this one like he won the last one. A rigged election. The same as California dems have been doing for decades.

I'm always amazed at how the masses will tolerate this rather than get involved to correct it.

We are at the point, and have been for some time, where the only way to get involved is through violence. In other words, we're fucked.

When your local government , school board etc... doesn't listen to angry citizens it's time to remove them. If they aren't listening you know the people up the chain aren't listening. Start local and start removing these people.

If there is any speck of dirt on LE, they will dig it up at the last moment.
