Nice write up. Good read.
Answer to some of your questions: AZ is McCain country. His reach is still beyond the grave. The east-coast forces and sources that kept McCain afloat does not want to relinquish control over the state. We had McCain and Flake as our senators at the same time. This fact says volumes over who is the money and power behind the politics here.
I know people who participate in the Political Committeeman elections who are true conservatives. They state the tom-foolery that takes place with internal voting and that the old-guard power grab is alive and well in guiding candidates and squashing any divergent thinking from populist Trump-like America First supporters.
Next on-deck for long-play-deep-fake trojan Republican Governor candidate - Kari Lake Before she embraced Donald Trump, Kari Lake signed on with Democrats as Barack Obama's fortunes soared https://www.12news.com/article/news/politics/kari-lake-is-running-for-governor-as-a-republican-but-has-also-been-a-registered-democrat/75-550469a9-0665-404c-84b0-7548d5681a41
Lake was a member of the Republican Party up until November 3, 2006. That day she changed her registration to become an independent, before registering as a Democrat on January 4, 2008, the day after the Iowa Democratic presidential caucuses were won by Barack Obama.
Oh yeah, McCain. Aside from his checkered past and coziness with terrorists, there's his ties with the University of Arizona, Ashton Kutcher and that shady shit he convened in Sedona. Sure gives a hint as to the 'why' they won't readily relinquish power.
Lake sounds like she hitches her wagon to where she will be most useful. I'm always wary of party-jumpers, but at least they stick out like a flashing neon sign. The stealthy RINO's are far more dangerous and a lot of times, harder to detect.
Hope the Political Committemen can get some good candidates in there, Arizona sure needs them.
