The Taliban, now in near-total control of the country, are going door to door in newly conquered Kabul searching for journalists and political opponents, according to multiple outlets on the ground.

Afghanistan’s Tolo News outlet posted on Twitter Monday that Taliban forces had confiscated its security staff’s weapons and assumed responsibility for protecting the office. Taliban officials have begun confiscating civilian weapons, claiming civilians no longer need to defend themselves because they will instead keep the people safe.

My comment: Sounds like the liberals in America. Oh wait, the same foreign power runs both groups now.

A senior journalist for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFERL) said on Monday morning that the Taliban was targeting journalists and U.S. sympathizers, declaring on Twitter, “Kabul is now becoming deadly.”

Women journalists, in particular, have much to fear from the Taliban resurgence given the group’s notorious mistreatment of women and stringent restrictions on their activities. The UK-based Guardian relayed the thoughts of several prominent women Afghan reporters who spoke anonymously due to fear of reprisals.

“For many years, I worked as a journalist … to raise the voice of Afghans, especially Afghan women, but now our identity is being destroyed and nothing has been done by us to deserve this,” one news anchor told the outlet on Monday. “In the last 24 hours, our lives have changed and we have been confined to our homes, and death threatens us at every moment.”

“Firstly I am worried about myself because I am a girl, and also a woman journalist,” another said.

The Taliban overtook Kabul on Sunday morning amid little to no resistance. After occupying the presidential palace, the terrorist group’s leaders declared victory in the war for the nation and the restoration of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. President Ashraf Ghani fled the country ahead of the Taliban advance, later posting a message to Facebook claiming he did so to spare the city from further violence.

While armed conflict did not devastate the city, Ghani appears to have failed in his claimed effort as the terror group has simply moved against civilians rather than Afghan military personnel who might have offered a modicum of credible resistance.

TBH i do not do a decode on Revelation.

It is very confusing if you don't know the symbolism. That is given in the book of Daniel. It does say you are blessed to read it and hear it. Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

The real question is: am I ready to meet Him?

That is the most important question.

Likely not to see you here, but i anticipate to see you in the hereafter. That is the beauty and the promise of belonging to His Family, in Christ Jesus.

Amen. :)

I appreciate the reminder of the blessing to read Revelation. To be aware of this Book of hope. ThanQ for that reminder. I tend towards the Epistles, in guiding one's daily walk. Usta tend towards the OT and all the activities of Elijah and Elisha, Samuel is also a favorite. But now i need more guidance in the believer's walk. I have been reminded of this lately, it seems. Yes, i do know folks have been startled that i do not really delve into the prophecy aspect per se. It is plenty for me to strive to live the life right now, but to hold the blessed reassurance of our future. I operate in other areas, which all the more emphasizes our various points of focus. As a matter of involvement here, i def have specialties that are only a subset of the whole. Some that i do not employ at this time cuz they are not on the radar. I reckon it is like the coat of many colors that makes the whole. Here is a thing that i have discovered. One's life is one's training. ESPECIALLY what one has experienced before salvation often becomes a focus of one's mission. Got some very good training, high cost but survived it. Makes us all the more dangerous to the enemy, experience and then even more His miraculous power to transform. That made it all worth it.

ThanQ for our conversation today. What a treat! Psalm 133 ; )

Psalm 133

1.Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

So true my brother in Christ. Thank you for sharing.

Was that not sweet?

Unity in Christ Jesus. True unity and harmony. One accord.

Have a blessed day, Patriot. ; )

Same here. This soldier needs to shut down for the day. Be blessed friend. I'll read psalm 133 before bed. :)
