"I not-only need you to get me elected. I need you once I'm elected."
He did NOT say "I don't need you to get me elected".
He was telling people that not only does he need them to help get him elected, he need's them after he's elected as well.

Listened to it 5 more times and don't hear it. Makes sense unless you know you don't need them. The it causes conflict in the mind and it comes out audibly.
