True a certain extent. Presently and in the past corporations presented bills to the legislature designed for their benefit. Making all hemp farming illegal had less to do with "reefer madness " than crushing the hemp fiber business to promote the wood pulp industry. Railroads used the legislature in a similar way as did the emerging airline industry.
Obviously communism fails at economics because it ignores the reality of human nature. Fascism at least responds to human nature but crushes innovation by the individual.
I know a guy who is making very good cookies out of his home but in spite of spending thousand on red tape laws still has no way to market legally.
