I suspected this was BS when it first appeared because unless they were sending every positive result to be differentiated in the lab; how could rapid tests made before the Delta variant was known to exist test for it? So when the PR came out that almost all new cases were Delta I suspected it was "Because the experts say so."

They answer is no because the CDC as you saw said they are not testing for the variant. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/variants/variant.html

Yes, I was very well aware of that well before CDC announced it, as you can see from the time stamp.

I called it 11 days prior.
