The only way such a large hunk of graphene could exist in the arm is if the nano-particles regroup (clump together after injection). We know that graphene oxide does possess interesting magnetic properties so this might explain the massing. This would/should show up in an x-ray.
I believe I read that it is suppose to stay at the injection site and not migrate to other body parts which is why they reasoned it was safe to use as a carrier. Seems like this is exactly what you would expect to see then. Pretty sure it DOESN'T stay in the arm though and migrates to other organs.
