COVID-19 cases are once again spreading quickly across the U.S. As FOX News said citing CDC data this past week, “With the highly contagious delta variant spreading rapidly, cases in the U.S. are up around 70% over the last week, hospital admissions have climbed about 36% and deaths rose by 26%.” Especially among the unvaccinated, cases are going up, so it’s more important than ever that you consider getting the shot. If you’ve decided the COVID-19 vaccination is not for you, read more below to learn why some people have changed their minds and decided to get the shot.

Vaccines are extremely effective

As U.S. officials have noted, more than 99% of U.S. COVID-19 deaths last month were among unvaccinated people and more than 97% of recent hospitalizations have occurred among the unvaccinated. While the delta variant is causing the vast majority of new infections in the U.S., the CDC says COVID-19 vaccines help protect against severe illness from breakthrough cases. And even if the vaccine doesn’t prevent you from getting the disease, it’s dramatically more likely to prevent you from getting horribly ill or dying from COVID-19. With safety being a core United principle, we need to all understand the significant benefits the vaccinations are demonstrating for people around the globe.

Patriot, so effective you still need to wear a Slave Mask, after they claimed once you took the Jab you would be free from the Slave Mask. Remember when just in 2020 they claimed Vaccine Passports were a Conspiracy Theory ?

Part 2 Consider the numbers: More than 157 million Americans have been vaccinated as of July 6. That’s a population orders of magnitude bigger than the typical clinical trial population for vaccines. And, as CNN shared, only 5,186 cases of hospitalization or death due to COVID-19 have been reported to the CDC for those who were vaccinated.

What makes someone change their mind about COVID-19 vaccination?

According to polling data, the vast majority (92%) of those who said at the beginning of 2021 that they intended to get a COVID-19 vaccine had received one six months later. So have 54% of those who said they wanted to wait and see. Perhaps most interesting, among those who said they would plan on waiting to get the shot, would get it only if it was required, or definitely would not get it, 21% now report being vaccinated. So what made them change their minds?

Top reasons they gave include:

Friends and family persuaded them. They saw family and friends vaccinated without significant side effects. Their personal doctors convinced them. They wanted to participate in eased restrictions for vaccinated people. They wanted to protect other family members or friends. Vaccines still available

Getting your COVID-19 vaccine is the best thing you can do to protect yourself, your family and your colleagues and to ensure that our industry stays on track to recover and thrive. We are seeing an increase in cases of COVID-19 in the United States fueled by the delta variant, especially in places where vaccination rates are low. The vast majority of those who are winding up in the hospital and dying were not vaccinated against COVID-19. It is absolutely critical for you to get vaccinated to help end this pandemic. Stay safe by getting the COVID-19 shot. If you need help finding a vaccine, check out Flying Together’s COVID-19 site or www.cdc.gov for more information.

COVID-19 vaccines remain available for a limited time at our Premise clinics at IAH and EWR. If you or your family have not yet been vaccinated, you are still able to get your shot through United. We will cease giving out the vaccine in IAH at the end of July and in EWR at the end of August.
