When I first read about this years ago it made no sense why the EU was so interested in the courts reforms and what the problem was. My understanding is that in 1989 when Poland finally shook off the communist system, that a lot of those with commie beliefs still stayed in government including the judiciary. The judges had some kind of system where they could recommend who would become a judge and who was in the higher courts so that the injustice of commies continued in rulings favorable to the cronies in positions of power. Reform of the judiciary was a good thing, but even USA was against it....and now USA is in its present condition being overrun by commies and corruption. There truly is a global push by those in power to keep the corruption and communist socialists in all governments.
