Anyone who follows me does so at their own risk. ; )
Yes, and I am one of the people following you.
Overall, I like being able to follow people bc it makes it easy to find relevant content/support them without going through every post. (Go to upper left hand corner and click "PIF" and posts of the people you follow will come up.)
At the same time, like you, I don't like having followers that I don't know who they are bc I ran into problems with that elsewhere. As a courtesy, I try to notify people that I am following them, so they don't have to wonder.
We should be able to see who is following us.
Maybe the people following you will share that here or in a PM to you, so you don'r have to wonder.
I would follow myself too. :-D
PIF - I had no idea what that was. I rarely take the time to explore things because I have so much on my plate already and I've grown leery of clicking on things due to how they tend to take you way off course from what you were doing to the point that you forget what it was.
I don't follow anyone here so that PIF feature is no good to me. I just read the posts in a few subs and know that that's where I'll see anything that my favorite users post. I guess I miss a lot of their comments though. Maybe I'll change and start following a few (and let them know when I do).
As it is, I really don't care who's following me, unless it's a bunch of shills targeting me, like I got on my blog years ago. Even then, it doesn't bother me unless I find I'm reading a bunch of comments that have no purpose but to waste my time. But it would be nice to see who my followers are. I think that would help the morale of the users and cut down on shill activity.
Well played
I love Daffy Duck. I've had that pic for years.
One cannot tell by looking at another's stats if they have followers. Perhaps at a certain level of participation that function is available.
Yeah, i have a coupla followers, and expect that others have many more.
TBH i also suspect that it is a "mix" of those following. I do believe that.
I did have one person advise that they were gonna follow me on this platform. "Just letting you know." they said.
I must say enough crazy stuff, cuz i am just a tiny fish in this vast ocean. That must be the draw. kek
It is not that i have to know. In my few years of participation on these platforms i did have a coupla weird things happen, but it is all part and parcel of being involved in this work. God's got it, im just gonna roll with it.

Not to my knowledge, but it would be nice.
God's got it, i'm just gonna roll with it.
Amen
we be like ninjas, learning to roll with all that can be thrown at us.
; )
I'm pretty much where you are on everything you said. I think most that I have following came over from voat and continued here. I just don't see many voat people any more.
TBH i certainly would say the herd has thinned somewhat. All the easier to target and bracket. (No matter.)
Yeah, not alot of us around. Maaaaaahhh.
Godspeed.
That's a good question. I was given a heads up with the people who wanted to follow me. So, I know pretty much who they are. You are correct with your concern though. If one can't 'see' who it is that is following (and didn't provide the courtesy of notifying), it could be used for nefarious purposes.
It's not that I'm concerned... I'm kind of flattered. I was just wondering why bother setting the site up this way so we know we have followers but not know anything else. I'm already suspicious of this site after I lost 5000+ points for no explainable reason, as well as losing a few other features, so there's that, but I'm also pondering ideas on how a social media platform might be designed that had better features than what we usually get. Owner control is a real bitch for the user, especially when they hide and play games. Coding features into a platform is pretty simple, so there's no reason that we shouldn't be able to see who's following us. It seems that it's more for the benefit of the people running a platform than for the user.
Here's a tin foil hat to wear --- Being from Justin Castro land (and with all the crazy shit going on there), one or more of those followers, could be Ottawa. One cannot determine who follows. So, is it friend or foe?

Could be. I sent Son of Castro a few nasty emails a while back, so maybe he's got someone watching me.
So, is it friend or foe?
It doesn't matter to me. I don't have anything to worry about with what I say. Not like some people around here who play games and say stupid shit they might regret later on.
