True, not in a long time. Look at the French Revolution. They gave up being vassals of the Monarch and became vassals of the Freemasons and lost their faith in God as well. They worshiped the god of reason or better known as Gnosticism. The people will always be played by the wealthy with few exceptions. Heck, "we the people" have forgotten the rights given by the Creator and enshrined in our constitution. If "we the people" valued and cherished those rights we would be all over anyone who dared to diminish it.
