New plan?

New plan?

I'm still trying to work a few things out. I wanted to get a second battery so I could make the trip without having to stop to recharge, but ordering it requires paying for it over the internet and waiting up to a month for delivery. I refuse to give out my bank information over the internet so that's out. So now I'm trying to find places along the way where I'll be able to stop to recharge, which takes 5 - 7 hours for a full charge. I'm also trying to find a back or front carrier to carry my gear (and the extra battery if I get one), but I have the same problem with ordering one so I'm currently looking for a metalwork shop that can build one for me.

I would hate to get stuck out in the middle of nowhere with a dead battery. But then, maybe that would make it more of an adventure....

Holy sheeet. Batteries are the curse of the modern age. I take it that leg power is out of the question. What type of battery is it (Volts and Ampere rating, size)? Can, say, a motorcycle battery, motor scooter battery be used or converted? If I remember correctly, they are 6 V.

Leg power will work, but mine have gotten pretty skinny and weak over the last decade and the bike is a bit of a monster to move on it's own without peddle-assist from the motor and with extra gear loading it down. At least there aren't a lot of hills on the route I'm taking so if I have to peddle I can still do that.

I have to use the battery made for the bike because of how it mounts onto it.

I thought you said you were in BC, not Illinois.
