As long as Durham is AWOL, I guess we'll never know. I recall reading during the Mueller investigation that Rosenstein gave Mueller an 'open ended' mandate. This meant Mueller had the reigns over not only the Russia 'collusion' investigation, but now had control over the Hillary Clinton emails and the Anthony Weiner laptop, and more. At that moment, it hit me like a pile of bricks that this was nothing more than a tactic to prevent any damaging information from being declassified. The reason was that it was under the purview of the Mueller investigation. Declassifying information would be threatening an active investigation, dontcha' know'. It's a serious crime to breach an ongoing investigation, especially if it is a special prosecutor.
Bill Barr knows this game far too well. In secretly making John Durham special prosecutor without Trump knowing is a testament of the all too many 'snakes' dwelling within the Beltway. When Trump found out, Barr misled him about the real motive. Trump was assured that the investigation would bear 'good fruit'. He was told that the wheels of justice turn slowly and to be patient. He assured the results will be good. The Justice Department needed to make sure they had a lock tight case.
It was all a big lie and explains why the declassification has not happened. Isn't it strange that Durham still has his mandate.
