These idiots don't understand the difference between average and peak demand, and that "renewable" energy can't be increased on demand because humans can't control the source of the energy. That's why cola fired plants are always running, even when production exceeds demand, because when demand suddenly increases they can suddenly increase production. Coal fired plants can't just immediately start running, and so they need to be at minimal operating power constantly in order to suddenly increase production when demand suddenly increases. Nuclear is an option, but the hippies and other idiots are against nuclear because of one single meltdown which wasn't even an accident but rather a plant manager with hubris attempting to prove that he was smarter than he actually was. Chernobyl was not an accident. The plant manager ordered a stress test that was explicitly forbidden because it was unsafe.
