The pilots have a union (which might have already be co-opted by the liberal establishment) and tend to be a reasonably educated and tight knit group. If this is true, I expect AA to get sued over forcing vaccinations and this could put a major damper on employer vaccination requirements.

Is this part of the reason why they have been cancelling hundreds of flights (if i recall correctly)?

Other than folks not wanting to work anymore cuz of muh COVID money (taxpayer dollars). Paid to be unemployed. (Tho i dont put the pilots in this group. Pilots are a subset unto themselves.)

I don’t recall that. I also have a pilot in my family and he’s heard nothing about this. He no longer flies, has desk job, so maybe that’s why he didn’t hear.

Pilots are already hard to come by. Here comes the diversity hires in the aviation industry they’ve been talking about. This shit should get kicked off soon.

5 on British air this would not be a surprise the vaccine reactions are being covered up the cure is worse then the virus

Note: Airlines are not cancelling flights due to pilot shortages. Flights are being consolidated to minimize financial loss. Instead of AA having 4 flights a week on a particular route that is at an average of 50% capacity, they're making it 3 flights a week at 75% capacity. Not only that but instead of flying a 737-200 for those routes they can fly a 777-300 and save even more on operating costs.

I’ve heard it’s due to the lack of business travelers that drive a lot of airlines profits is the reason they’re cutting flights as well.

Yep, business class seats are 4x the price of economy and companies generally buy business flex tickets which allows them to change the dates any time but also coat 2-3x more than a non-refundable business class ticket. Basically, one business flex ticket for $10k is equivalent to 12 economy travelers.

Not everyone flies business class. If you’re not that important the company buy you economy lol.
