Could have been naivety also? Incompetence? Or just tired of it all and backed off? I know I would have been worn down. He had power he didn’t know or understand and had all of government (corporate) aiming at him.
I believe President Trump was concerned for the American people and with COVID; they were pressuring him to keep the country locked down. They found his Achilles heel, concern for people. It is too bad the Trump team wasn't able to work all angles going on but the left came on strong for four years so I do agree there must have been a level of fatigue.
