ROCKTON, Ill. (WLS) -- An explosion close to Rockton, Ill. took place at a Chemtool chemical plant Monday morning.

Large flames from the Chemtool plant caused heavy smoke to cover the air in the area.

A mandatory evacuation order is in place for parts of the area, according to the Rockton Police Department.

Rockton Fire ordered the mandatory evacuation, and the notice affects all residents and businesses in a one mile radius of 1165 Prairie Hill Road. Drivers are advised to avoid the area, according to Rockton officials. Evacuated residents are advised to proceed to Stephen Mack Middle School.

Chemtool has no compliance violations in the past three years, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency database.

I do remember that brother. I also remember all the money that went into building a state of the art solar panel manufacturing plant in Massachusetts. They completed it around 2009 and promptly went bankrupt and shipped all the machinery to China.

Brother, notice in California where they have all those solar panes together, any bird the flies over them, the heat generated back up to the sky. turns them into a smoke cloud. I understand extra crispy, but this is way overdone. How is that Great for the Environment ?

Brother, so much for their Global Warming Claims , now look at all the explosions going on. And they still fly on Private jets and live in many mansions. They are the threat to the Planet.
