Our for fathers described a democracy as 51% of the people taking away the rights of the 49%. Democracies end in totalitarianism. Are we going to let this Constitutional Representative Republic go the same way?

The word Democracy should make you cringe like the words Social Justice.

I read that in an old army manual when I was a kid. Most of it faded from memory but that stuck in my mind because it was at odds with school teaching. Rule of law to protect the rights of the individual against the oppression of the mob which would gladly vote it away. Over the years I've watched the struggle of the individual against the mob of popular opinion as his freedoms are peeled away layer by layer for the good of the collective.

Now, today the individual can scarce get a word out before he is attacked from all sides because he offended with his unpopular opinion.

Spot on. Do you think the leftists in this country wouldn't vote away our Constitutional rights if they were able? Heck, they want to get rid of Constitution. Short of that they want to "re-interpret" it. Our founding fathers knew from history the tendencies of tyrants.
