The covid epidemic has had several silver linings, one of which is that we haven’t heard so much about global warming lately. It is hard to sustain multiple hysterias at the same time, apparently.

In any event, if you have been wondering what has been going on with the Earth’s climate, Christopher Monckton has the latest at Watts Up With That. Bottom line: we have now gone more than six years without any net increase in the Earth’s temperature:

For those who haven’t been following this issue closely, UAH is the University of Alabama at Huntsville, which analyzes and publishes satellite data that provide our best and most transparent information about atmospheric temperatures.

IPCC’s prediction in 1990, on which the global-warming scare – justifiably described by Professor Lindzen in an excellent recent lecture as “absurd” – was based, has turned out to be a near-threefold exaggeration compared with sober reality.

Duh, heat rises so obviously it has left the globe by going up to the atmosphere. Tomorrow's headline "scientist warn of atmospheric warming". Naturally that will lead to space warming which will lead to comets melting faster changing course and hitting the earth. See, the global warming alarmist were right, we are destroying the planet and should have listened to them after the mid 70's coming ice age scare they were pushing.

People don't think. What happens to all the the daytime heat at night? I wish peple would wake up to the fact that people that seek public office / government jobs are mostly sociopaths and do not have the wisdom to figure out what's best for aq country. Best to leave every government small in size.

But, but, but it's only colder because there was less traffic because of the COVID lockdown. I tell you you will see when we all drive again it will get hotter again. Sooooooooooooooo, we need permanent lock-downs!!

You've got their talking points / strategy down pat. Well done.

It's because I hear it from my idiot lib "friends"

I had to turn on the fan today.

Does that count?

We'll put that data into our computer model as soon as you let us know the rpm's, rotation direction of the fan and blade dimensions. It is however possible to reverse the effects if you reverse the rotation.

In a similar vein, does anyone else remember up until about two years ago where excessive hand-sanitizer use (and antibiotics) was going to lead to MRSA/superbugs? Guess that threat just up and disappeared.

Now it's "Climate Change," every one.

When will they ever learn?

When will they ever learn?

There is no global warming, apart from the very gradual warming that has taken place since the last Ice Age, and which is still going on. Human occupancy of planet Earth has had an effect on the climate so small, it cannot be reliably measured. It is less than the margin of error.

This, in spite of the considerable increase in the level of carbon dioxide in the air. This has indeed been due to human activity -- mostly that of India and China. And it has been wholly beneficial! It has made trees stronger and taller, greened desert regions, and best of all, enlarged the yields of our food crops.

That's right, the consequence of China and India pumping out CO2 has been to give us bigger food crop yields around the world. But it has not warmed the planet in any degree that can be measured.

Growers of vegetables and plants pump CO2 into greenhouses to increase plant growth. They have found that a CO2 level of around 900+ is optimal. The world is supposedly at 300+ now.
