Except Judaism is not based on the Bible, but rather the Talmud; a rabbinic commentary. The Bible is used as a prop for the teachings of the rabbinate of the Talmud. According to the Talmud, even God lost a bet with one of these 'wise' rabbis of the Talmud. The two people are completely different. Ancient Israelites are not related at all to modern Jews.
