From what I heard on The Dilley Show, this Lindell site prohibits cursing (and Brenden Dilley is an eff-bomb-thrower), so - naturally - he said, "FUCK THAT SITE!" He also added that if the whole purpose of Lindell's site was to "protect free speech" he's got one helluva way of showing it by banning colorful language.

I'm sure Lindell had good intentions with this sit, but the only people who would be interested in joining a social media platform where you can get terminated for saying "shit" or "damn" or "fuck" or (fill in the blank) will only be the Bible thumping, Scripture-quoting sector who are intolerant of people who use 'cuss words.' So thanks, Mike, for excluding probably half of the MAGA patriots with your CENSORSHIP. Sorry we're not good enough to be in your 'club.' What a hypocritical thing to do!

While I realize you have every right to speak with any language you choose I believe language has spiraled downward with so many other things in our society. Yes, you can choose whatever word you want to express yourself...but should you??? This idea that there is freedom in "colorful" speech just goes to the depth of deception about what makes a society good, civilized and healthy. Does dropping the "F-bomb" make you appear more intelligent or articulate...NO...rather it shows a baseness where you are stooping to the lowest common denominator to communicate.

I realize speech reflects the person speaking, and that in turn reflects society and society can change ever so slowly to view things as common and acceptable that was once illegal, immoral or just looked down upon and who does that benefit? Society can be destroyed in many ways and the degeneration of speech is just one way that is used to prohibit people from being able to articulate using words that enhance your thoughts and expressions rather than these thoughts and expressions getting lost in a sea of vulgar language. Just because society accepts something doesn't mean it is good or right.

And really the greatest freedom is when people constrain themselves for the higher purpose of making society civil and the best that it can be. Yes, we all have a choice in so many things and it may be comfortable to choose the easiest, more common things but it takes effort and a respect for language and people that really exalts a nation and becomes a positive in society rather than a negative. Words are powerful and we really give up so much when we choose meaningless empty words to express ourselves rather than choosing words from our very rich language. Freedom isn't free and choice isn't freedom if it ensnares you.

This deserves to be its own thread - 100% agree.

With freedom of speech comes the responsibility of using it wisely.

And actually in a free society, the choices the people make in every aspect of that society determines the health of said society. Everything has a price tag and a consequence.

I think you know that I'm usually very articulate and use the English language very well, but I use cuss words all the time, especially in person. I particularly like using the f-word. It has so many useful applications. :-)

Words are powerful and we really give up so much when we choose meaningless empty words to express ourselves rather than choosing words from our very rich language.

'Dick' and other cuss words aren't meaningless or empty. They provide a very effective way to express oneself that proper English just doesn't do.

Remember, we aren't in a church here. We're on a site that accepts full freedom of expression. Calling someone a dick is a lot easier and more effective in expressing certain particular feelings about someone than using more polite/proper language. It's not like the comment was filled with profanity.

But I disagree that Mike Lindell is a dick.

Moderator...if you carefully read my original post I said NOTHING about God or the Bible. You say it is off topic but we ARE communicating and expressing ourselves in the English language so the post was MY OPINION on how we use said language to communicate. I am not really sure why you and Kenosha were so triggered by my post.

"Yes, you can choose whatever word you want to express yourself...but should you???" Is the crux of the matter.

I am sorry that encouraging people to aspire to be the best version of themselves is so offensive. Fine wine, exquisite food, pleasant accommodations and fine writing all has something in common...they rise above the common ordinary things of this world. THAT was the point of the post. Sorry you missed that.

Anyway, you know I have enjoyed your writing and opinion and I wish you well, as always. Take care.

Yeh, fuck off with that. If as you say the power of a word is diminished by it's over use then the word fuck has completely lost it's power, except over limited minds. Just like calling white people "racist" lost it's importance, we need to grow up and get over simple words. Even the bible uses colorful language but bible thumpers rarely read the entire bible.

I didn't say the power of a word is diminished by its' overuse...you did. Don't put words in my mouth. Your response absolutely proves my point. AND I have read the Bible through many times and it is a perfect example of the beauty of language and its' ability to articulate beautifully and clearly.

Besides being a dick, he makes crappy pillows. As seen on TV junk.
