Don’t overlook the part about him using an official email address to make the contribution.

All cops are warned about serious consequences for using official resources for personal business.

The consequences are serious because consequences for the department and the city can be extremely serious.

Teachers are given the same directive for the same reasons.

It doesn’t really matter if a teacher or cop agrees with their terms of employment. It matters greatly that they adhere to them.

I agree with your sentiment but I seriously doubt if he’d been fired if he’d donated to a progressive political candidate.

As a teacher myself once upon a time, I was told to just stay off all social media. The truth is actually they’ll come after you for supporting conservative causes, but liberals supporting their causes are completely left alone.
