What this tells us is that they've been infiltrated.

If that's the case, this was released on purpose as part of a larger strategy. They wouldn't be giving us the best they have. They would release this because they want the DS (and FBI) to react in a predicted manner. Perhaps to subvert a deeper plan that was cooking.
