Chlorinated swimming pool water can inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19 in just 30 seconds, a study found as indoor pools re-open across England this week.

Virologists from Imperial College London studied the impact of varying concentrations of chlorine in water on the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The findings suggest that the risk of COVID-19 transmission via swimming pool water is 'incredibly' low, the researchers reported.

The investigation was commissioned by Swim England and the Water Babies swim school, with support from the Royal Life Saving Society.

We performed these experiments at our high containment laboratories in London,' explained study author Wendy Barclay, of the Imperial College London.

'Under these safe conditions we are able to measure the ability of the virus to infect cells, which is the first step in its transmission.

'By mixing the virus with swimming pool water that was delivered to us by the Water Babies team, we could show that the virus does not survive in swimming pool water — it was no longer infectious.

It's been known for about 200 years that chlorine kills pretty much everything.

been known for the same amount of time that quinine fucks with malaria and malaria like things. like lung inflammations.

hydroxychloroquine is quinine.

you can get quinine off your supermarket shelf.

indian tonic water, orange juice, centrum multivitamin with zinc selenium vitamin c and d and youve got your own ivermectin.

quinine has been used since british east india days and is the reason behind the whole military 'scotch and soda' thing. the soda water was originally tonic water which is bitter as fuck so it started getting taken with rum and shit and drastically reduced tropical diseases amongst the officer class. the footsoldiers rarely got the same attention.

Yep I have a case of Indian tonic water. Taste pretty good too.

quinine is the natural thing

hydroxychloroquine is the chemical version of it made in the lab.

Both work. How is it that no one does a little bit of research and find this out. It has been working for so may years. I swear people are getting dumber.

I used to enjoy a gin and tonic or two on a summer weekend. The indian tonic water sounds interesting
