The west isn't the global police force and has plenty of problems of their own they should be focusing on. Russia/ukraine bs had been going on for centuries and they have found ways to solve it. The Donbass region has had predominantly russian population since 1700ish after russia conquered the region from the (can't recall the name atm) khanate rule.
