That’s why Democrats always win in the long run. They are much, much better rhetorically and much, much smarter. They know how to boil an argument down to a catchphrase while Republicans flap their flippers and stammer and take an hour to explain while everyone loses interest. Democrats are framed literally every issue for at least the last 40 years. They are the ones that set the rules for the discussion, they are the ones that know how to frame the argument in a way that Republicans can’t win. It’s not about taking peoples guns and violating their rights, it’s about ProTeCtiNg ChIldrEN. It isn’t about free speech, it’s about SafEtY oF aLl pEoPle. It isn’t that public education sucks, it is the public education iSN’t FunDeD enOUgH. I remember when our witnesses in election fraud hearings were surprised that they weren’t allowed more than two minutes to give their argument. Nobody coached them. Nobody told them how to succinctly deliver the most precise and cutting information quickly. Meanwhile Democrats were boiling their arguments down to 30 seconds like professionals. Our guys went in uncoached, unprepared, and bogged down with too much dense info and not enough sizzle. Should that matter? No. But it does. Democrats do a better job of existing in reality and understanding reality, and manipulating it. They will always win until Republicans get younger and smarter. I’m not even kidding, Republicans need to hire some writers. When you are pitching a novel you often have 30 seconds to do it. Publishers will tell you, literary agents will tell you, if someone sends them a pitch or a query letter that is more than two paragraphs long, their skills aren’t refined enough. They aren’t succinct enough, they probably don’t edit their work properly, but meanwhile people will send them five page proposals. The people who get published boil a pitch down to something that can be read in about 10 seconds. Republicans need to learn stuff like that. But they’re just so so so fucking stupid and stubborn.
