Kinda torn on this one. Think that there may have legitimately been some fishy stuff in that bill, and that would've set a precedent for a complete turnaround and "permanent" installation of "it's okay to give kids hormones. Unsure
Otherwise it felt like tucker was actually on his side, but playing tough question guy to bring up obviously important "duh" issues for people who already watch, without making it seem like he was giving the governor an easy break.
And on one hand, what's wrong with less government? It's a slippery slope when it's instilled that a government can mandate things heavily, this'd be one brick in that wall. Seems like unfortunately it does fall to the parents, much like a parents right to take their kid out of school for homeschooling or trade training.
If private businesses can prevent people from entering without masks, then what's to stop private businesses from banning parents who castrate their kids? Therein lies a more obvious answer to this, at first thought. Ban / flag the "doctors" doing this to kids, prevent them from affecting local governments and work your way up.
Everything on "the news," either side, seems extremely fishy these days. Hard to know what the real story is. And to make it extremely clear I am completely against this castration & puberty blocking torture nonsense that's happening right now. It's possible that this is all just framed up to look perfect like this and highlight the subject. It's possible there's a lot of back end "christmas tree" style add-ons on this bill that'd only make things worse. It's possible this was all staged and agreed on so that the governor can do something else or get some backing from unlikely sources based on this appearance.
All too shady and confusing, but I do think the strongest and best way to take lead is with our own families, spread information about the stats and side effects, and NOT support THE STATE taking away children from their parents "because they want abortions or hormones."
