They are pretending to give a shit. This will amount to nothing. We need to ditch the entire government and start over.

Let's say they find some amazing "coverup".

Then what? Nothing, that's what.

There was never going to be anything. Whoever told these poor people that something was going to happen lied to them. They weren’t merely wrong, they lied.

The disciples knew whether they saw Jesus after his death, or they knew that they didn’t. Their claims were either true or they were false. And they knew them to be true, or they knew them to be false, before making them.

If you have a source that makes a claim that they know to be true, or they know to be false, and it never materializes… What does that tell you? Well, I should ask, what would that tell a prudent person?

Do you remember in mid 2017 when people were called communist Marxist Chinese shills for doubting that Hillary Clinton was going to be in Gitmo by Christmas? Do you remember that? God, I do.

Remember when they started circulating drops and pictures and supposed evidence that planes were already moving people like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi down to Cuba? Remember that? They insisted for weeks it was coming, and their “sources” and all of their podcasts swore by it and said it was true, staked their reputation on it, and then when it never happened no one held anyone accountable?

They brought the same guests back on their dumb podcasts, the next time they made a prediction it was believed without any skepticism whatsoever, etc. etc. and now we are going into the fifth year of this. And they were just as arrogant, they still lack humility, they are just as gullible.

Leave them behind, they deserve it at this point.

Oh yes, I remember.

Good point about motives and honesty.

because state and federal officials have something to obnubilate.

Yup. That’s the first reason that popped into my mind.

obnubilate- verb darken, dim, or cover with or as if with a cloud; obscure.

I acknowledge your suggested alternative words. All of them are perfectly serviceable elements in any person’s vocabulary, but obnubilate is still the first word that popped into my mind.
