This type of shit happens weekly in LA, yet the media is pushing for a gun grab now that they have Biden + Congress so they’re going to keep pumping these stories like they’re increasing in frequency and related to “hate”

Yeah, that’s true, but just one of these is too many. If I honestly thought gun control worked or that new legislation would prevent these, or that compromising on 2A would do anything to help, I’d be for that.
Yet none of that will work. A strong 2A actually helps more.
But 2A advocates acting cold and indifferent to these shootings is NOT HELPING our cause. We look like assholes when we do that. A nine year old child is dead.
I can’t be callous about that, even if the media is using it like vultures to push an agenda, that child is dead.
That’s tragic and heartbreaking every fucking time. 2A defenders should be more proactive in talking about what WILL work to stop/reduce shootings like this. Jumping to the bullhorn to shout about the politics (not anyone here, just in general) is more than callous, it’s sociopathic and counter productive.

To also have focus proactively on prevention. How many times have there been clues and warnings of many of these folks that end up harming/ki11ing people? Often these signs are ignored, to the point of it seems the strategy is to look the other way until it is too late. Yeah, i know that is conjecture, but some weird stupid s__t has happened before many of these perpetrators "blow". When i talk with folks about this i say look for the pattern of psychiatric care and on psych meds. More often than not, i believe.
Focus on what would deter CRIMINALS rather then the rest of the population. See something, say something an' all that. Now with all the anti-police measures and the corruption of certain three letter agencies, that puts a damper on any sound program to identify and intercept real threats rather than blanket legislation.
WE know why this is happening, to seize 2A inherent rights, but approaching the unaware from this angle does sound like only another rant. People get pro 2A when it finally happens to them close hand or someone close to them. Only then do many realize the need for ability to defend. The aspect of having means to thwart tyranny is only talking about some other universe to them.
The last paragraph concerning especially a child's death really brings this point home. To not make it all about the grab as much as to get to the roots of LAWLESS gun violence and the outlaws who commit it. Any assault upon the 2A will not affect their lawlessness one bit. In fact it would encourage it, making us an easy target, literally and figuratively.
And as we very well know, for optics, perpetrators of color will not be screamed about in the fake media. Those stories will recede into the background. Crime is crime not matter what the color. We know how race is masked until some white person commits a crime, then it will run headlines nonstop for weeks. This is a simple observation, without bias. The pattern is glaringly obvious. This for any violent crime anymore.
