That's the very thing that people don't seem to understand. The Deep State Republican presidents just went along with the Deep State system of approval. Any one bucking that system would immediately face unending bad publicity and a congressional investigation. Trump wasn't above this fray and already had a special counsel for 2-1/2 years who basically had an open-ended charter to investigate just about anything. Firing Anthony Fauci I am certain would have given Mueller more grist to investigate. We know the outcome of Trump dismissing the Ukraine ambassador and the investigation that resulted. All I'm saying, is that Trump did not have Marvel Comic powers as some would like to believe. It simply doesn't work that way in Washington DC, especially for a Republican. Firing Anthony Fauci would have stirred a hornets nest in Washington, not only with the democrats, but with a large wing of the republicans too. I'm sure it was considered, but their decision was to not fire him, but to expose him instead.
