I'll highlight and add to your verse you posted. If you go to the Greek, in Rev. 21:8 uses the Greek word 'pharmakeia'. The meaning of the word 'pharmakeia' is basically to "purposely lead astray"; "to knowingly cause to stumble". However, it is ascribed to persons of superior knowledge who misuse knowledge to victimize the ignorant or to lead astray from rational and empirical truth.
Thus, any misuse of superior, natural knowledge, including the manipulation of mathematics or mechanical sciences, virology, immunology, computer programming, etc. are all used as tools for the practice of pharmakeia. This is especially meaningful in the sense of a deceived person or a group caught-up in and espousing a philosophy, ideology, religious or political that is opposed to the truth of the Laws of God and Nature. Think of the non-existent efficacy and safety of pharmaceutical injections. Think of the virologists, immunologist, and managers from Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca who really know about the harmful and damning effects of this genetically modified mRNA injectoid from and are ignoring it for ulterior and even 'evil' purposes. Think of the "vaccine enforcement lobby" promoting an experimental genetically modified mRNA therapy that is NOT APPROVED by FDA. In fact, there is NO APPROVED vaccine for Covid-19. Are they telling people this very important information or having them sign a consent waiver before jabbing them? Are people that are taking the Covid injection, being denied their 'right-to-know' when this is NOT APPROVED by the FDA and therefore is an experimental drug with many, many dangers?
In a broader sense, 'pharmakeia' would include from necessity the abortionist and the local pimp, trafficking of children and spreading false religious knowledge would also fall under the category of 'pharmakeia'.
Isn't interesting the word 'pharmaceutical' is derived from the same Greek word?
