I don't disagree, but there is a reason that he has not been allowed to squawk AF1.

Not using the call sign AF1 could just be a ploy to indicate distress, just like the fence and National Guard at the White House. But I think I recall MonkeyWerx report they used n/a for Trump too. If so, it could be a security issue.
