To think Minneapolis was once the most desired and beautiful city to live in the entire US. In the late 1980s is when it all started to turn. Minnesota wanted to emulate Sweden's welfare state and soon after, a pipeline of inner city blacks from Chicago started to move to the Twin Cities. Getting on welfare in Minnesota was perhaps the most effortless place in all the United States. During the 1990s, imports of Somalis started to flood Minnesota and now the gangs are protected and operate freely. Being jobless and having too much time on your hands is a bad combination. Minneapolis has become Little Mogadishu and now no one wants to live there. How does the saying go? It takes months to build a beautiful house, but only a few minutes to burn it all down. This describes Minneapolis very well.
