By 600 BCE, they had already navigated around the entire continent of Africa. The Phoenicians were famous for their Tyrian purple dye, Indigo dye and red dyes. The "flat earth" myth was created to scare everyone not to attempt sailing beyond the Straits of Gibraltar. It worked too. The Phoenicians were able to protect there monopoly by telling everyone of graveyards of ships and crews being lost in endless mud flats. And of witnessing ships disappearing as a result of falling off the edge of the world. The Vaxxers are using the same tactics today of trying to scare everyone. It's the same old flat earth tale being used again.
