Telegram is a shit site. It won't play the video until you install their app. Fuck them. No thanks.
I could view it on my computer without an app.
Maybe they don't like my browser.
I had the same thing... first it was "view in channel" and then "this media type not supported by your browser" ...which is BS. I found that odd because I have played many videos from the telegram website before so I started debugging what was going on... wanted to see if it was actually serving something up in a weird format or if they were erroring server side... and after loading it a few times it suddenly decided that I could play the video... something funky there for sure.
The bid tech companies are certainly messing with people's feeds. Today I was reading an article that had a link to it's source, and when I clicked on it it led me to my own blog instead of the source.
I've also experienced what you describe, but with YT and other sites (might have included Telegram but I can't remember). Telegram doesn't always let me view the videos.
Too bad.
