You make a good point. I know of a woman, brain-damaged by hit-and-run when young, who can barely handle cash. Kind of like the maiden aunt, who earns her keep by cleaning and cooking. Can never live alone. Able to read, but logic escapes her, and math is just about non-existant.

I have heard, from one of the usual suspects (Juan, C Ward, Simon, etc.) that cash will still be available. Of course, that depends on several factors to work. I.E., the steps along the way must be agreeable, store, banks, etc. Sorry I have no source for this. And who can we believe, after all? I guess it's just wait and see. You won't be the only one who cares about this, so I guess we hope for the best, hmm?

Have another friend who takes cash from her check, and when the cash is gone, she stops shopping until she gets her next check. Budgeting at it's best. As she's now retired, I did suggest she get a debit card for safety. Esp. when some stores stopped taking cash last year.
