Love this post as I love research and deductive thinking. Served we well during my 53 year career as a registered nurse. BTW, I figured out on my own way back maybe it was the N1H1 that is wasn’t what it was being portrayed. I told my husband back then and every subsequent ‘scare’ thereafter that it was a con job. I worked in a hospital and we should have been rehearsing a drill. I was suspicious way back when the break out of the Legionnaires Disease in the convention centers occurred.
Unfortunately, I have a sister in law whom I adore who is an RN. She recently retired as the Nurse Manager in the Emergency Room in a rather large hospital in Massachusetts. She and my brother have been religiously self isolating since the pandemic hoax started. They have 4 kids like us and you guesses. No family Thanksgiving nor Christmas this year. On the other hand, we also have 4 kids and enthusiastically joined all of them for the holidays. So sad. I don’t understand how a registered nurse is unable to determine that the bogus info that was pushed had even a shred of validity. And I can testify that she is an exceptional nurse and well credentialed. Her staff was so sad (for themselves) when she retired. Yes, very happy for her.
Thanks for your time and post.

I hear you brother. Nurses are like foot soldiers. They fight the battle on the front line with only the tools given to them. My wife's sister is a nurse. She is caring, but controlling. There's no input allowed when it comes to caring for the patient, only carrying out the doctor's orders. I suppose most nurses are this way. My wife's sister is incapable of seeing outside the box though. Perhaps, its yet another form of 'Stockholm Syndrome'. She was very good at 'nursing' my wife's father into the grave. It's no criticism. That's what she did and that's just the way it is sometimes with nurses. She comforted him and diligently provided him the medications for treating his symptoms. Of course there was no medicine to improve his vascular impairment because that's just the way allopathic medicine is designed. She also is an avid pandemic believer as well. I think it's a type of Stockholm Syndrome or at least cognitive dissonance. The two are very similar.
Thanks for sharing your story. Not everyone has a detective / spot the BS mind. Lot's of people focus on the job in front of them and trust certain people in their jobs. If those people aren't sending out a warning then the rest stay asleep. Lots of people are followers as well. They would rather be part of a group than to stand out as a nonconformist and lose the feeling of belonging to a group.
There is so much psychological stuff involved here I couldn't even begin to imagine not spotting the BS and then standing up and shouting it from the rooftop.
My sister got a covid test. The results had a bunch of useless information. We couldn't even tell if she was positive or negative. Guess what was not on that test result? Cycle count! When we asked for it they said it was not available. One big scam and everyone who goes along is just as guilty as the perpetrators. You are blessed. You can see what others can't.
