Having to being shown is illogical when most of his supporters (1/2 of the country) knows exactly what is happening and the part of the population that is supposedly being woken up (including those that are feared will riot) is brain damaged beyond repair with mass mind control. A good percentage of these people only live for the day, immediate needs and wants or refuse to hear truth. They can not be reached. So what are they waiting for? Every additional day the reality of a pacification psy op becomes more probable.
You suspect a pacification psyop, but what if it's all true, and they just couldn't pull it off? What if the plan failed?
Then the back up plan was always Mutually Assured Destruction and global extinction.
