My understanding is that in the OT, He as the Preincarnate Christ, was then the Angel of the Lord, also the Lord of the Angel Armies. Fascinating to read, for it then portrays Him as One Who resoundingly thrashed the enemies of God. In the NT, it required Him being born of woman and God's Holy Spirit in order to be fully man, leading to His earthly ministry in order to fulfill His Mission in bringing the Good News, leading to His sacrifice on the Cross (the spotless Lamb), His Resurrection, and Ascension. Then go to Revelation to see Him come back with the same fury as in the Old Testament, and on a white horse. To thrash the enemy again! But that is not even the BEST part. ; ) IMHO i do find these thoughts on His OT Presence as being plausible. Simply my two mites.
