I sit here in Lufkin,Texas with no water.I am 55 and have never experienced weather of this magnitude.Loss of electricity for some for more than 60 hours.I was fortunate to buy a generator Monday and had to use it for more than 12 hours through Wednesday morning coping with rolling blackouts that exceeded 4-6 hours at a time.I AM LUCKY,friends,to have power for more than 30 hours straight,but I caution you to rely on solar and wind power instead of Natural Gas,Coal-fired,Bio-Mass fuel and Nuclear power plants.Our grid has lost 30% of Nat.Gas and Coal-fired with solar and wind replacing them and you see what shape the energy capitol of the world has faced.Lufkin officials say we should have water back on by the weekend.Pray for ALL OF US that are struggling.Rant over.Blessings begin.

Both wind turbines and coal power plants can operate in sub zero temperatures with proper regular maintenance and weather protection. Texas incompetent leadership did not weather proof our power systems and now they are trying to play it off left vs right.

Here, Here Tall-Pines-1965. Tired of idiots like AOC whom speak out of their a$$, speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron. I live in San Antonio and have not had power for 70 hours+ now. For a state as rich in energy as Texas, this is unacceptable. I endured three days of sub-freezing temperatures, and thank the Lord I was rescued by a friend who has natural gas for heat and cooking. I pray for the elderly and those with health conditions that may be clinging to life during this time.

I'm sure with enough time and money they can get Texas' 11,000 wind turbines to function just as well as a few nuclear power plants, a forth of the time, on 15 times more land, and using enough fast-start gas turbine generators to backup the electrical grid.
