John Wycliffe is known as "The morning star of the Reformation". He was the first person to translate the Bible from Latin into English in the 1380's. How did the Holy Roman Empire handle this? They killed him.
Jan Huss was a student of Wycliffe and brought the bible / God's words to modern day Czech Republic. He was burned at the stake by the Holy Roman Empire for this action. These actions by Wycliffe and Huss began the light of God to shine on the world. 100 years later Martin Luther would kick off the reformation by nailing his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg.
